Wow! A scary but true to its core. I guess this guy was greatly inspired by
the likes of Carter G. Wilson [The MIS-education of the Negro], Amos Wilson
and John Henrick Clarke. Right on the mark about Harlem and its encroaching
gentrification. The born and bred Harlemites are leaving in numbers and the
apartments are exhorted and rented to the new immigrants, especially Africans,
at unbelievable price, with the mindset that, they'll follow their brethren
and Manhattan proper [97th St. and down] will extend to 125th St. No wonder, a
lot of activist blame President Clinton for excercabating this Empowerment
Zone [hidden agenda] and selected his office in the heart of Harlem...some
would say to thank Black folks for standing by him during the Monica Lewinsky
episode.
It's the same gentrification going on in most major cities, like DC, Boston
and Atlanta. No jobs, more liquor stores and drugs = high petty crime rates,
abandoned and boarded up buildings and voila, master plan becomes effective.
Its' the same placebo effect afflicting tourism-depended countries like
Jamaica, where the locals face serious segregated housing challenges in secluded
and garrisoned neighborhoods. If Gambians are not careful, the same would come
true in Gambia, especially around the coastal areas. No wonder Jammeh wants
to get paid ASAP with HIS oil discovery. I could see a Halifa Sallah
challenging his genuine character and sharp mind, declaring a hands-off approach,
while recruiting Gambians to influx the Oil industries and learning the day-today
operations. A Yahya Jammeh would turned out worst than the clown in
Equatorial Guinea.
What a rude awakening for Africans
