I found a startling research fact in a new diet book. Apparently, it's old
news. The author states that beef induces a greater insulin response than
white pasta and fish induces one greater than popcorn. The paper cited is
Susanne HA Holt, Janette C Brand Miller and Peter Petocz "An insulin index
of foods: the insulin demand generated by 1000-kJ portions of common foods"
(Am. J. Clin. Nutr., Nov 1997, Vol.66, Iss.5, p.1264-76).
