On the Closer To Truth segment in which Professor devany appears one of the
panel points out that if every human who has ever lived were imortal, but
had only one child (linear vs exponential growth) the world population would
be about half what it is today.  In HG societies average time between births
far a woman was 4yrs.  Now, without contraception, it is less than one.
