A point I've brought up in the past. The changes
seasons require a changing emphasis. Makes perfect
sense to me that winter months should be focused on
those foods available in winter - fatty meats and
fish, tubers, dried fruits and berries, nuts. Summer
should be a time of "lighter" fare - lean meats and
fish, fresh veggies and leaves, fruits (when
available!), berries.

Where I would differ with what you posted is this: why
tubers at all? HG's would have had more than enough
stuff available growing above the ground during the
summer months - ez pickens'. So, why dig at all? Seems
like tubers would be sought after when stuff above the
ground died off (fall and winter). Also, most fruits
are not available until later in the summer months, so
I would be much more inclined towards berries (lower
in carbs, too).

Personally, I tend to gravitate towards salads during
the summer months -- especially when the weather heats
up like this past week (we hit 106 on Tuesday).

Like you, I tend to shed pounds easily during the
summer months. I'm not sure, though, how much is the
result of diet vs. increased activity.
