they are accountable to God Phil and I think that He's big enough to
take care of Himself. I can't speak for you, but I know that He
hasn't asked me to step in and take His place. I'll trust Him and
His timing. He knows what He's doing. Look at the Ted Haggard
situation. It all came out in the wash and it didn't take a lot of
nasty, vendictive, back biting articles to do it. It took God's
timing, and that's all.
I believe That it would be wisest to take the advice of
Gamaliel to the Sanhedrin, in Acts 5:38-39: "Therefore, in the
present case I advise you: leave these men alone! Let them go! For
if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But
if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will
only find yourselves fighting against God." Even Paul didn't bother
to get bent out of shape about those who were not preaching the word
of God with completely wholesome motives. He tells the Philippians
in chapter 1:17-18, "The former preach out of selfish ambition, not
sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am
in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in
every way, whether false motives or true, Christ is preached. And
because of this, I rejoice."
I don't understand why these venimous gossiping articles
would continue to be encouraged on this list. I thought that this
was supposed to be a list of encouragement. these articles are meant
only to hurt others who don't do things the way that the writer would
like. There is no edification in these articles, just poison and
hatred and I can't see how they can be good for anybody. I really
grieve for those of you who find this type of food for your spiritual
appetite pleasing. I see it only beneficial in building walls and
raising defences, not unifying and blessing. There is just way too
much of this sort of viciousness in the church, which is why, in my
opinion, it is in the sorry state that it is today.
