In my reply to Rhonda on how music  things were going I mentioned about 
prayer for this area as my day job is uncertain long term. So my inbox this 
morning had a reply  from a person who I wrote a while back about him using 
a song I wrote for his web site. Basically back in September I did a fill 
in gig for a trio that couldn't make the date at an annual AppleFest here. 
I was referred, took the job and the owner liked what I did and said... 
"Let's talk next year". I mentioned I had wrote a song entitled "Circle K 
Apple Orchard" the name of his place and his ears perked up and wanted me 
to send it to him. I did and he wanted to know if he could use it on his 
web site. I said sure... my blessings to ya. That  brings us up to maybe a 
month ago. I sent one a couple weeks ago as a follow up, didn't hear 
anything and figured I either offended him with request that if the song be 
used for a radio jingle, that we work something out business-wise and that 
I could help with jingle donut advertising spots as well. The one exception 
to any fee would be him using it on his web site for free and also for 
advertising the AppleFest free as well as it benefits the Lion's Club, 
which we know they help blind folks. I figured I offended him with the 
radio jingle bit and wrote it off. This morning I get an email saying he 
apologized for the delay, has been busy, will use the song on his web site, 
and wanted to  meet for coffee and talk about background music for some 
community  organizations and sponsors. So that is a  possibility for future 
revenue if not resume builder in music :). appreciate the prayers. I've got 
this direction I seem to be lead. Where ever I playout from here on, write 
a tune about it. I wrote one about a song circle bit that happens once a 
month here in the Twin Cities at a studio I frequent and it is a toe tapper 
folks really like. I wrote one about the farmer's market which folks liked, 
accept for the farmer's market lol, they really didn't say anything. I 
figured I'd get a... "Oh hey that's neat to write a song about us" kind of 
thing anyway to at least acknowledge the time spent  writing it even if the 
song stunk in their mind lol. . It got great reviews at my songwriting 
group and others I've played it for... oh well :). I took that tune and 
altered it into the apple orchard song and he likes it and wants to use it 
so at least it is getting used :) I think as a writer if I write a tune 
about a venue I play, it might grab their attention and want a return gig, 
hopin' so anyway :). Not sure if anyone is doing that on a regular basis or 
not.
