What about John 3:16? "For God so loved the world ..." And also, 1 John 2:2
Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. And we can personalize and say
with Paul once we have believed "Who loved me and gave himself for me!" Gal
2:20. Then there is Ephesians 5 where Christ loved the church and gave
himself for it.
