I've not talked to anyone whose read the book so I don't know the answer to
your question. I just started reading it and haven't gotten very far yet.
The annotation and the book jacket information didn't imply what you
suggested but I guess I'll find out. I thought, based upon the movies, that
Angels and Demons was his latest but I guess it is the other way around; The
Da Vinci Code came after Angels and Demons. Otherwise, what you mentioned
is an old erroneous theory that some have promoted for years. It will be
interesting to see if the book itself in fact promotes that idea. It is, of
course, a way of attempting to diminish the divinity of Christ in the first
place.
