Our frined curt started his first round of chemo (four rounds of one
week with five treatments , then three weeks off) this past Tuesday
for his battle with germ cell cancer. He was kept in the hospital for
the first round of chemo because of the location of the tumor in the
thorax and the involvement of Curt's heart.

Curt did ok with his first three treatments. He was blessed to not be
nauseated much and to have maintained his appetite. Then Friday
morning while he was sitting on the edge of his bed and talking to a
nurse, he suddenly collapsed and never regained consciousness. anna
contacted me earlier today and reported that curt had died.

Anna and Curt had been a cople for more than twelve years and had
lived together for about ten out of those. This is more than many
couples are married.

Curt's sudden death comes as a shock for all of his friends. The news
of the cancer had been bad but this cancer was supposed to be very
susceptable to chemo and easily treatable.

I have been really good friends with Anna ever sinceChris's and my
time in Minnesota from 1999 to 2000 and I was the one who asked Curt
to help out Anna when she needed hhelp with her first computer back
in 2000. I do not really know how to comfort anna except to entrust
her into God's care. anna is a Christian girl and that is a comfort
but losing a friend and life partner so suddenly is still a terrible
blow and beyond words stuff.

Please pray for Anna and for all the friends and families affected by
Curt's death. Curt was a good guy who was always ready to help others
and, w hile fully sighted, had many friends in the blind community.

Thanks much for your prayers.

In God's loving grip!
