Subject: Housing progress, NOT!

Hi Guys,
Well, Greg had a talk with the forman yesterday and the foreman
estemates that it will be another eight weeks before this house is
finished. I could have choked. Anyway, if that is true, that will
extend the construction of this house at least six weeks beyond the
ninety days that the contract stipulated. The crew is putting in four
ten hour days a week, but some days, like yesterday, the crew is reduced
to two or three guys because they are working on seven other houses at
the same time. I'm frustrated because, no only will that allow our
mobile home to depreciate another year, but the chances of selling before
next summer are slim. Not to mention the difficulties of moving a mobile
home in, possibly poor weather conditions. We are talking November in
Maine. Another frustration is that the skirting has already been removed
in preparation for moving it so that our insoluation is way down and
heating this place is really going to be a real trip while we wait.
Anyway, I've put a call into the person heading up this project, but
I'm not sure that there is much we can do. One thing that really
frustrated us yesterday is that the Plumber stopped by to see if he could
do his work this weekend. Remember the bathtub? It was in the back of
his truck! Anyway, the guys told him that the house wouldn't be ready
for his services before next week. They have to frame in the walls
before he can work. I almost wish that they had come in to work today to
frame in the walls and had taken off Monday instead, so that the plumber
could have done his thing this weekend as he had planned, but then, I
wasn't consulted.
. We don't want to get too aggressive in case they drag their feet even
more. We are truly seeking for the Christian way of handling our rights
and our disappointments. Please keep our situation in your prayers.
Kathy
