I've been friends with  these people for  going on 8 years now, his wife and
I are very good friends!  They have three children, two girls one 8 the
other 3.
And a boy 6.

I think you should be concerned.  No, he shouldn't be trying to meet young 
girls that he gets to know on the web.
Maybe you would want to set up something with the police and let you 
daughter meet him under their cover.
Just a thought!
