Thanks for the tip.
If I right click a drive, and select "properties", I'm presented with four
tabs. They are GENERAL - TOOLS - HARDWARE - SHARING.
There is not an "indexing" under any tab.
I did find "indexing" under ADMINISTRATION, and disabled the service.
There is no noticeable change.
