This is a reminder that the FCC is inviting nominations for the Chairman's Awards for Advancement in Accessibility (Chairman's AAA). Nominations are due by the end of this month -- July 31, 2012 -- by writing to the email address [log in to unmask]

This year, the awards have been split into the following seven categories: Higher Education, Deaf-Blind Solutions, Video Programming Device Solutions, Geo-location Solutions, Mobile Apps, Consumer Empowerment Information, and Civic Participation Solutions. Nominations may be submitted in these categories for any technology, product, service, or practice designed to increase accessibility, which has been introduced to the public during the year between July 31, 2011 and July 31, 2012.

A nomination should include a brief description of the advancement, its category, date of introduction, and justification for an award. Applicants can nominate themselves or others they think are deserving of such recognition. Winning nominations will also be showcased in October at the FCC's Technology Experience Center.
