Please check this link before doing anything suggested below. This is a
hoax. When receiving emails like this it is often helpful to go to
www.mcafee.com or to www.norton.com and check their virus alerts or virus
information before passing on the information.

http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99084&

From that link:

"Virus Name:
SULFNBK Hoax Date Added:

Virus Characteristics:

AVERT HOAX Notice!!

McAfee AVERT Labs would like to inform you of a new email HOAX.

This email message is just a HOAX. Although, the SULFNBK.EXE file may become
infected by a number of valid viruses (most commonly W32/Magistr@MM, the
details of this HOAX message are not based on actual events.

We are advising users who receive the email to delete it and DO NOT pass it
on as this is how an email HOAX propagates.

In the event that the SULFNBK.EXE file was deleted erroneously, the
following method may be used to restore the file from backup: "

The file continues with instructions to fix the problem.

Subject: Very real virus alert - act now!

Folks,

This is a real one and I did find it on my system despite my always being
alert to such things. You should act quickly to find and get rid of this
because it is supposed to activate on June 1 (Friday). Finding it and
deleting it are simple and don't require any special tools -- here are the
instructions:

---

I received word tonight that our computer was infected with a latent virus
sometime around May 4, 2001.

I did call the source who infected our computer and verified it is real.
The virus is not detected by Norton Utilities or MacAfee software.

I did follow the instructions listed below and did find and remove the
virus from our system.

I apologize for the inconvenience and ask you to alert any people you sent
e-mails from May4 2001 to present. As far as we know the virus does not
automatically send to people listed in your address book.

Here are the removal instructions.

This virus scans as a dormant program and springs to life either when you
fint it and open it, or on 1 June - whichever comes first. It will then
trash your hard drive.

Please press your start button
Go to "find" or "search", select "files or folders"
under 'named' type SULFNBK.EXE in uppercase
under 'look in' select 'C' or 'my computer'
Press 'find now'
Right click on the 'sulfnbk' file with a little black logo and delete it
Go to your recycle bin and clear the bin as this virus will still activate
in the recycle bin

Please alert everyone that you email.

---
Sorry about this, but I didn't know I had this, or if I actually passed it
on to somebody else.
