(Instructional Support Technician II)

Full Time, Probationary
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

$3,257 - $4,309 per month (anticipated hiring range $3,257 - $3,608)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Alternate Media Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of Cal Poly Pomona's alternate media production center. The
coordinator will
acquire, modify, and deliver large quantity of diverse curriculum
materials in specialized, accessible formats to students with
disabilities. The coordinator
will be responsible for the modification/conversion of acquired
materials into a wide variety of specialized, accessible formats
(Kurzwiil 3000/1000, large-print,
Braille, digital or analog audio, PDF, RTF, DOC, HTML, Microsoft
Reader); operate a complex DSS alternate media database module for
record-keeping, reporting
and inventory tracking; oversee the acquisition of hard copy, audio, and
electronic curricular materials (both textbooks and course readers) in
both specialized
and mainstream formats; oversee the delivery and retrieval of modified
curricular materials in various specialized, accessible formats; handle
the usage,
maintenance, and secure storage of large inventory of specialized
hardware, software, and curricular reading materials library (physical,
electronic, hardware,
software); provide orientations and training for students and staff on
alternate media services programs; and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of related experience providing instructional support
services. Associate's Degree (with 16 units in related courses) may
substitute for one
year of the required experience; Bachelor's Degree (with 16 units in
related courses) may substitute for two years of the required
experience.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in CIS, IT or related field. Experience with computer
based scanning systems; Optical Character Recognition software;
networking applications
protocols (HTTP, FTP, SMB, and Appletalk); hardware & software used in
alternate media production centers; experience with individuals with
disabilities
in a university environment.

**This salary does not reflect a General Salary Increase (GSI ) which
may be negotiated through the collective bargaining process.
