       Yes, the gloves exist, and they are even over-the-counter, but
not where you might expect. You can usually find them at bicycle shops.
The standard position on road bikes puts a lot of stress over the wrist
and the carpal tunnel. The gloves have a gel pad over the carpal tunnel
area to protect the median nerve.

       So, they are intended for bike riding, but should be what you are
looking for for general wrist protection.
