SENATE VOTES TO DENY CLEARANCES TO CRIMINALS.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washdc/ncsthu08.htm

""Common sense dictates that one convicted murderer, or one
convicted drug dealer, with a security clearance is one too many," [Sen.
Bob] Smith said Thursday."

"One communist in the State Department is one communist too many," said Sen.
Joe McCarthy during the Army-McCarthy hearings in 1954. Sounds like Joe is
dead, but his rhetoric yet lives, in the latest irrational crusade, the
misnamed "war on drugs." It appears that the Senate is cutting a wide swath
through the U.S. population to greatly magnify the definition of "security
risk" once again. I'd watch your wallet whenever one of these opportunists
is nearby.
