Over the past few days I have made several behind the scene changes to the
list.  All administrative topics will have ADMIN in the subject line.  This
will be a quick way to identify important information about the list and/or
list "business."  The second of these changes is the subscription renewal
notice.

The meaning of the subscription renewal message.

The subscription renewal message allows the list owner to keep the
subscriber's database up-to-date.  There are many times when a subscriber
will set their options to "NOMAIL," and forget that they are subscribed
or want to signoff the list and erroneously use the "NOMAIL" command.  The
renewal message reminds the person that they are subscribe to CHOMSKY and
should either continue with NOMAIL or unsubscribe/signoff.  For other
subscribers, it's simply a way of saying, "We are checking to see if you
would like to remain on the list."

Our renewal notice is set for every six (6) months.
