                         POOR PEOPLES' CONFERENCE

                            SATURDAY, MAY 10th
                          begins 10am, ends 6pm

                        Vancouver, SALISH TERRITORY

You are invited to a conference organized by and for under and
unemployed
people in Vancouver.

The purpose of this event is to promote solidarity, to explore the true
causes of poverty, and build networks of survival and communities of
resistance.

                            WORKSHOPS INCLUDE:

* A history of the unemployed movement in Canada

* Welfare rights: practical skills to fight and win more benefits

* Anti-poverty organizing in Seattle: tent cities and sit-ins

* Looking back at the Frances Street Squats: video and report from
participants, including a look at squatting in Berlin

* Organizing collectives and co-ops to combat poverty. How they work and
what keeps them together.


            Conference is FREE and dinner will be provided for all.
