   Dear Listmates,
I have seen postings on our list asking questions like this before and I
believe that there is considerable missunderstanding in this area. I
answered Barb's post and thought that I should post my answere to the List
even though I suspect that I am going to get considerable flack on the
subject. Let er fly!

 Hi Barb,
I have been diagnosed with DH, Nov. 96, and have read much on the
subject during this time. ( I am not a doctor.)
But, DH can appear any where it wants to! It is not restricted to the
classic areas just as CD is not restricted to classic symptoms.
DH is also not restricted to any one feeling. It can be very itchy or
not so itchy, it can be associated with pain or painless, it can display
itself in the classic itchy blister on the butt, elboes, knees, back or any
pressure spot; or it can present as small red spots, rash, or rosie colored
areas on various parts of the body. Although rare, it can also develop in
the mucosal membranes of the body.

DH IS TOO COMPLICATED TO SELF DIAGNOSE, AND ALL OF THESE SYMPTOMS CAN
BE SOMETHING ELSE.

In regard to your hip, if this is an area that is rubbed of is a
pressure spot from your clothes it is posible, but not a diagnoses.

I hope that this helps you some, if you are looking for more
information get back to me and I will send you some references.
