Hi All,
I'm waiting for the results of my blood tests for celiac. I took all the
obvious gluten out of my diet in late November, but still had some sickness
and hidden gluten right up until the first part of January. I keep reading
that one should not be GF when getting a blood test as the test will not be
accuate. I shared this with my doc and he said that it's a genetic
proclivity and would therefore show up on a blood test regardless of gluten
intake. I'm confused!! Even if it is an issue, I had only been entirely GF
for 3-4 weeks so it still should show up in a blood test, correct?

Second, I've noticed an increasing sensitivity to chemicals and fragrance
the past few years and it's much worse when I've had gluten. Depending on
the smell, I can get congested, bloodsho
t eyes, dizzy, sore throat and
sometimes my throat even starts closing up. My asthma/allergy specialist
says I have allergic rhinitis and vasomotor (non-allergic) rhinitus in which
all the mucous membranes are overly senstive to irritants. He also said I
had vocal chord dysfunction and spasms from irritants. Is this chemical
sensitivity typical for CD?
Thanks,
Pam
