I just found out today, that HEINZ TODDLER NUTRIOS have ceased being
produced, and they are being replaced by another product containing gluten.

Toddler Nutrios are just about the ONLY cereal that my child can eat
anymore, since going gluten and casein free, and this cereal had the added
bonus of having 60% of the recommended daily allowance of calcium in them; a
nutrient so difficult to supply when your child is not permitted to consume
dairy.

I spoke with the Heinz Toddler Nutrios cereal product manager, Emily Baird,
this morning, and she said that there was not enough interest in the
product. In addition, this cereal had to be targeted at the 2 years and
under market, because it was fortified with calcium. (Gov't regulation here
in Canada). I have asked Ms. Baird to consider reinstating this product and
marketing towards those with gluten-intolerance (e.g. in health food stores,
instead of the baby-food section in grocery stores). She said that if they
had enough demand that it's possible that something could be done.

PLEASE, please, even if you do not use this product, can we please write to
this company and explain the plight of celiac people and autistic children,
and ask them to consider keeping this product on the market??? There is so
LITTLE that they can eat now as it is!!!

Please be kind, as this lady was very sympathetic, but is only doing her
job. She indicated that she would try to help if enough interest is generated.

Thanks,
Courtney's Mom,
April
