Hello all,

I am new to the group and newly re-diagnosed with celiac. I was
originally diagnosed at about age 4. Spent two years in and out of the
hospital until I was put on a diet similar to what is now recommended.
That was around 1950. For almost 50 years I have been symptom free (at
least I think I was) and felt very healthy. During the past 6 months I
have had the usual unpleasant gastrointestinal reactions to foods. Last
week it was suggested to me that it was my celiac kicking up again. I
changed my diet and almost instantly got relief from the gas and loose
bowels.

Anyhow, I have been searching the web for sites on foods and am learning
quite a lot in a short period of time (crash course). I do get confused
when I see sites that claim to be about celiac, but also seem to have a
separate agenda, and this makes it very difficult to sort the wheat from
the chaff (yes, I know there is a commercial pun on this one on the
web).

Anyway, if someone would care to guide a newly re-diagnosed person to
good sites and materials you have found helpful, I would greatly
appreciate it.

Also, I see in some quarters that buckwheat is a no-no and others ok,
while it is a key ingredient in a GF beer recipe (something I am looking
for, BTW).

Thanks,
Gene Sampson
