Cleo Libonati, RN, BSN will speak to the East Florida Celiac Support Group on Sunday, April 11, 2010 about "Nutritional Deficiencies in Celiac Disease."

By its inflammatory effect on the small intestinal lining, gluten (the protein that triggers damage) causes some degree of nutrient malabsorption in persons with celiac disease. However, many people do not realize that even after eliminating gluten from the diet, certain nutrient deficits may remain, causing health problems. Cleo will show the group how to identify and remedy problems that remain or arise on a gluten-free diet.

Cleo Libonati is the author of the internationally acclaimed celiac disease reference, "Recognizing Celiac Disease," http://www.recognizingceliacdisease.com. She is also co-founder and President of GlutenFreeWorks.com, http://www.glutenfreeworks.com.

Location of the meeting is Cape Canaveral Hospital, 701 W. Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach, Fl.
Time is 1:00 pm.
