I need some help about how long there should be between coming off of a
gluten-free diet and having a biopsy done.

I had a biopsy four years ago which proved negative, but I found out
afterwards that I should have been on a glutenous diet before the biopsy
and I wasn't. I have a family history of coeliac disease and changing my
diet has convinced me that I have a problem with gluten intolerance.
However, UK doctors can prescribe gluten-free products to coeliacs and this
works out a great deal cheaper. Whilst my current doctor is happy to do
so, I may not be so lucky in the future and am considering having another
biopsy done.

I also have a four month old son who may or may not have a gluten
intolerance or coeliac disease himself and I would like to get my situation
straight before his becomes an issue.

Can anyone help please?
