I recently recommended Cetaphil moisturizing cream and lotion to a couple
people on the list. I have been using this on my son with no ill effects.
He breaks out into a fine rash with prolonged contact to items containing
gluten on his skin. I called Galderma Laboratories today and spoke with a
very friendly woman. She stated that the neither the cream nor the lotion
contain gluten; however, there are one or two ingredients that are grain
derived. I asked which ingredients she was referring to. She said she did
not know specifically which ones. Simply, that was all the "scientists" have
told her.
jar of cream ingredients: purified water,
polyglycerylmethalcrylate (and) proplylene glycol, petrolatum, dicapryl
ether, peg-5 glyceryl stearate, glycerin, dimethicone (and) dimethiconol,
cetyl alcohol, sweet almond oil, acrylates/c10-30 akyl acrylate
crosspolymer, tocopheryl acetate, potassium sorbate, benzyl alcohol,
disodium edta, sodium hydroxide
the tube of cream (I call this the lotion since it
is thinner) also includes phenoxyethanoland lactic acid
made by Galderma Laboratories Inc, 1-800-582-8225
