Dear Kim --

I was diagnosed in 1963 by biopsy, after being very ill for many years.
Along with the digestive problems I also was always very itchy -- legs,
arms, back, buttocks.

When I was first diagnosed my doctor prescribed Dapsone and I was on it for
six months when she decided my skin had cleared. I was living in upstate NY
at the time.

The itches eventually all came back. I have gone through several series of
Prednisone, but my current doctor has not felt I should use Dapsone again
because of the side effects. Right now I take 1 mg of Prednisone every other
day and just try to control the urge to scratch.

I have found I break out in hives whenever I take Tylenol and all the many
other acetaminophen medications. I discovered this through trial and error.
Excess heat, fatigue and stress will start a scratching episode.
