Thank you for all who responded to my question on spray starch. My
husband (the celiac) went into a mild asthma attack after using
"Faultless Regular Spray Starch". As one respondent suggested, he was
probably allergic to something in the can used as a carrier or
propellant. (No ingredients are listed on the can.) He used another
brand called "Easy On" without any asthma reactions.

Anyway, as far as celiacs go, 2 people wrote that they had contacted the
company that makes "Niagara" Spray Starch and were told that it only
contains corn starch. One of the respondants said that she is extrememly
sensitive to gluten and has had no problems with this particular spray
starch. So "Niagara" brand should be safe for celiacs.

No one wrote me about any other brands, so I don't know what other brands
are "safe".

One person wrote and said that she is also very allergic to corn. When
her husband is ironing and starching a shirt, she cannot even be in the
same room. She gets a similar allergic reaction at the movies from the
smell of popcorn others are eating (nausea, headache, sneezing, etc.).
