I would like to open a side conversation theme, and it is about healing
the intestines. I read "unbalanced intestinal flora" on a previous post
and wonder about it. It is something I have heard a lot about, but most
of the information I always get is vague. I'm pretty sure that having the
wrong bacteria inside will cause additional problems to us, Celiacs.

I know that taking antibiotics will wipe out most of the flora present,
and this is one cause for an unbalanced flora.

As far as I know, there haven't been many studies on intestinal flora, to
catalogue them, etc. If someone has some information about:

what is a balanced intestinal flora (names),
which are responsible for vitamin K produccion,
who die first? the good ones or the bad ones, after antibiotic intake,
how much good really is the use of lactobacilli pills,
and other ways to unbalance the intestinal flora,

I would really like to read about it. Thanks.
