For the first time in my celiac life, I went to a local restaurant
yesterday and ordered from the celiac section of the menu. Paloma
Blanca has been very helpful and understanding about figuring out which
of their menu items would be appropriate for our diet.

Paloma Blanca in the Alamo Heights area, and Aldaco's, downtown at
Sunset Station near the Alamodome are run by the same family and serve a
similar menu. I highly recommend you give them a try if you are in the
San Antonio area. They specialize in Mexican food, and the family has
been in the business here for many years.

Although the celiac menu is not listed on-line, it is printed in their
menu. If you are handed a luncheon menu, you might need to ask for the
dinner menu, where it is listed on the last page. And I suggest you
double check with the waitperson to be sure about any other
restrictions or concerns. Meet Blanca herself if you get the chance, or
ask for her mother. They are both lovely people.

You can check their website at palomablanca.net/ for more restaurant
information.
