Thank you to the many people who replied to this query. I am unable,
because of migraine headaches to drink anything with a grape base so
have more of a problem than some people.
        Most of my replies came from the States and many of the recommended
brands are not available in Australia. For the benefit of others these
are the recommendations.
        Vodka ...Luksusowa (made from potato)
        Vodka ...Chopin (expensive)
        Smirnoff Silver Vodka
        White rum
        Tequila (watch for gluten in colouring...Herradura, good brand)
        Glacier (made from Idaho potatoes)
        Calvados (apple brandy)
        Wine made from other than grapes (suggestion to make my own)
        Saki
        Cider (watch for gluten additives)
        Fruit brandy
        Grand Marnier

For the benefit of fellow Aussies, I was told the Australian Coeliac
Society have a reference list of brand names.
