Good morning all,

For those who live in New York, there is a bakery in Forest Hills, Andre's
Hungarian, which has been around for over 25 years with some of the finest
baked goods around--and all previously forbidden for me! A friend of mine
who is both diabetic and celiac found out about the following, and I wanted
to share.

Andre's has launched a line of Low Carb, Sugar Free, Wheat Free, Cholesterol
Free baked goods which I have sampled. I am highly sensitive to gluten and
within 1 hour after an accidental ingestion I already have symptoms. With
these products I have been totally fine and experienced no trouble at all.
The ingredients are all listed on every product, and they have a website
where you can see all the ingredients and products they make. You can also
order by phone or mail order, and they do provide samples.

My only concern is that the products are made in their own kitchens, which
also make products which are not gluten free. Still, I did not have any
problem and gave some to a celiac friend who also experienced no difficulty.

They make Rugelach in raspberry, lemon and apricot (the best ones), and the
crackerbreads are incredible. They are like those tasty flatbreads we are
not permitted to eat, and come in a world of flavors. Myfavorite is Toasted
Sesame and Roasted Garlic. I advise against the Cheddar Cheese. They also
make cookies, which I tried and didn't go crazy over. However, because most
GF baked goods are so high in calories, I was delighted to find some I could
eat and not add so so much carbohydrate.

I've also seen their products up in Yonkers, NY on 1550 N. Central Avenue at
Tuckahoe Road in the Sugar Free Store, for all those who live in Yonkers.

Enjoy.

Love and peace,

Libby
