Hello all,

Thanks to everyone who responded! 

A few people suggested that I try dry plain beans and lentils (ie not in cans or in any kind of mix).  I am sorry that I was not more clear, those are what I am having trouble finding without a wheat warning. 

Many (>10) people said that they have no trouble eating Goya or other brands with the warning, they all do clean and rinse the beans before adding them to recipes, which is something that is pretty standard when working with them anyways.  Quite a few of those eating them do get tested annually and have been keeping their antibodies low.  Interestingly, not a single person wrote to say they ate lentils or beans prepared this way and had a problem.  There were also a few folks lamenting that they are doing without due to the warnings, so as always there is no clear consensus on what constitutes a reasonable risk, and each of us will have to make our own decisions.   Shop-Rite's store brand
  No problems when I buy rice and lentils at Asian food groceries
  Stop & Shop brand lentils and beans.   They assure me they are GF and they do not have a warning label like Goya

     Thought Safeway brand was gf.

So, I think I will just buy the ones easily available even with the warning and give them a good wash, as I always do.  Thanks to everyone who answered!!!  This was the most kind and supportive set of answers ever!!
