The next meeting of Alamo Celiac, GIG® in Austin
is scheduled for January 17, 2007 at 7 p.m. The
meeting will be held at the Cambridge Towers,
1801 Lavaca. Parking is available on the street
and is free in state lots after 6:00 p.m.

We have a busy agenda planned. There will be a
panel discussion where some of our more
experience celiacs, Anne Allen Marguerite Hirsch
and Tricia Lewis, will talk about “Tricks and
Tips for Living the Gluten Free Life”. Primarily
they will be sharing the things that they find
make life easier. If you have a “Trick or Tip”
you would like to share, we will open the floor to the group, so come prepared.

We will also have a representative from
McGovern's Organic Desserts who will talk about
their “Gluten & Casein-Free Delights” and share
samples. We will also have samples from
Redbridge beer, the new sorghum based beer from Anheuser-Busch.

Please bring a gluten free snack to share. It is
important that included with each snack is a
listing of ingredients. Some of our members need
to avoid more than just gluten. If the recipe is
either original or has been changed at least 3
times, please bring the recipe. We can publish
these recipes in the recipe exchange section of our monthly newsletter.
