Does anyone have any information on Claritin, the antihistamine, as to
whether it is safe for Celiacs to take? Yesterday my dermatologist
prescribed Claritin to control the severe itching of a very heavy outbreak
of excema. I woke in the middle of the night choking, and by morning had
lost my voice, which is typical of a food reaction, particularly wheat, for
me. Is there a relationship between Claritin and wheat? I seem to
remember a note on this subject a while back, but don't recall the answer.
If Claritin is not safe, are there any antihistamines which are? Any help
would be appreciated. Ruth
