I have already received quite a few responses.  I had forgotten to say I'm
57.  I must add I also take Premarin and Provera.
Thank you to all for the encouragement.

One person pointed to me that not everybody can tolerate Fosamax.  That, I
know.  But if taken as prescribed, it is a very small minority.  But I feel
lucky all the same.

An other person told me it would still be better if I exercise:
.  "Now if you really want
to strengthen those bones of yours you need to do some weight bearing
exercises just a few time per week.  Also, add some sort of other exercises
and you'll be cooking!"

She is totally right.
