I was happy to receive responses to my question about whether cipro,
lomotil, and ceftin were gluten free. One poster said she uses
lomotil and that it is gf and another uses lomotil.
Lani Thompson of Clan Thompson said: ceftin tablets and suspension
(Glaxo SmithKline) were gluten free when I last checked them in
November for our drug Smart List. However the company says that
formulations can change so check with them. 1800 366 8900. She
continued to say lomotil liquid and tablets (Phramacia Upjohn) were
also gluten free when she checked in November.
Stokes replied that "unfortunately we no longer have that information
in the pharmacy" and they recommended that I purchase a book that has
surveyed the companies. To order I would call 609 953 5815 or go on
line to celiacmeds.com. Stokes said they could possibly compile a
similar medicine for me if I fo und that ceftin or lomotil contained
gluten.
