I have not called French's, but the recent reply a poster got flies in the face
of labeling laws. If French's distilled vinegar indeed comes from wheat, it
would by law have to be listed in the ingredients. Even if the wheat left over
is miniscule.

So French's is either violating the law or is being EXTREMELY CYA.

Here's what French's says online:

Q: Are FRENCH'SŪ Mustards gluten free?
A: Yes, they are gluten free.
