First a huge thank you to the members on this listserv. I have had a number
of questions answered by reading the daily listings and the archives. In
June 2001 my 2 year old daughter was diagnosed at 17 months with classic
symptoms. The rest of the family was screened and my 4 year old daughter
was diagnosed asymptomatic. 3 months before her endoscopy we found she has
bilateral sensorineural hearing loss at the moderate to severe range and now
wears hearing aids. I am trying to find if there is a correlation between
the hearing loss and the Celiac Disease. If there is, I wonder (dream) if
being GF would return some of her hearing, or if nothing else it would be
nice to at least know the cause. I have asked the pediatrician, GI, and
audiologist and get the blank look. I searched the archives but there
wasn't a lot there Any help on where to find answers would be most
appreciated.
