I would like to clarify that the *sweetened* applesauce is not on White
House brand's Gluten Free list because the vendor for the *corn syrup*
informed the company that there are trace amounts of gluten in the corn
syrup from the *corn*.  This is all the information that the company had
and this is what they based this call (not to guarantee the GF status of
the sweetened applesauce) upon.  I did explain to Mr. Lake the difference
between the use of the work *gluten* in the celiac sense and the general
sense.  This company is located in Winchester, VA if anyone else would
care to pursue this matter further.  I am sorry but I do not have the
phone # any longer.
