Hi. A while back the subject of GF licorice came up. It was concluded
(I seem to recall) that there is NO GF licorice anywhere.
My question is directed specifically to the German celiacs on this
list. In our supermarket I found something by a company called Jamin
Verwenwinkel. I am assuming this is German. I really have no idea. The
list of ingredients on the celophane package is not in German since
they are exported. They read: sugar, glucose, water, natural gelatin
(with a parve kashrut certification - ie. not made from animals),
citric acid, flavor enhancers, vegetable oil, bees wax, artificial
colors.

This company also makes other candies, like jelly snakes, which we have
stayed away from on principle because the local brands all contain
wheat. Israeli law requires labeling if there is any gluten in the
contents. Since this would seemingly be the only licorice and jelly
snakes to be GF, I thought i should check it out. Anyone with info,
please e-mail me. Thanks.
