I asked the group how long it takes before the bowel gets back to normal.
The responses overwhelmingly said the longer you remain undiagnosed (in my
case 60 years) the longer it takes.  Apparently the younger people healed
quickly, ie, within months, however, people like myself who were undiagnosed
well into late adulthood, continued to have loose bowels and their intestines
were slow to heal.  Some said they heard it takes 7 years for every 1
undiagnosed.  Quite frankly, the responses were very reinforcing for me as I
was starting to feel the diet wasn't working as well as it should be.  All,
like myself, felt an immediate change when going on the GF diet.
