I recently had an appointment with an Internal Medicine Dr. who will
follow me for Celiac (among other problems). I discussed with him the thread
of Celiac being under-diagnosed due to the fact that many people do not
outwardly show symptoms. He strongly disagreed with me, stating there must
be SOME symptom for a Dr. to pick up. I was disappointed in his refusal
to be more open-minded and worry that there are more Dr.s with the same
attitude, therefore allowing Celiac to go unnoticed.
He also said that the blood tests for anti-bodies would not be a
proper test for checking on dietary compliance (I had in mind checking
for hidden glutten). I thought some people had previously written to this
list using the test for that. Any comments? Lynn from Omaha
