Quite a while ago, someone generously posted several links to medical
and science articles that cover the immune system and auto-immune
issues. After perusing the free information (some had a cost associated
with them), I find I still don’t have an answer to a question that has
been posed in the past.

Can a person with an auto-immune disease (like Celiac’s) benefit from
doing immune enhancing things like taking Echinacea or Vitamin C or
other vitamins and herbs that are proven to help boost the immune
system?

I find with Celiac’s disease, I seem to be more susceptible to illness
even though I take great pains to keep myself healthy. Good food,
exercise, sleep and rest, lower stress, etc. I find I feel better
overall when I stay focused on good health. Still, I wonder if I can
avoid the winter viruses by boosting my immune system with some of these
supplements or do they just make me sicker?

Are there any studies or research?
