Thank you for everyone that took the time to reply to my request for
dining ideas in the Minneapolis area. Here is a summary.

**There is an Italian restaurant called Sidney’s that serves RICE PASTA
for their dishes, incl. fettuchini alfredo. You must tell them you’re
allergic to wheat and ask them to use the clean water and caution so no
wheat noodles accidentally fall in. Many of their chicken/shrimp, etc.
that can go with it can also be gluten free.

**South of MoA is a Bakery, Bitter Sweet, on Cliff road in Egan. (take
35E or 77 south to Cliff road). They are open more “business” hours
(only a short time SAT), but the bakery is ALL GF. You can indulge and
probably buy some to bring back home with you.

**I did the Celiac Walk in Minneapolis last year and it was great! They
will have lots of information for you about restaurants in the area that
serve gluten free food. However, in the mean time, might I suggest two
of my favorite restaurants in the city: Sawatdee-- This is an excellent
Thai restaurant! I
have eaten there many many many times and have never been sick
afterwards. There are quite a few locations around the city, but the
best one is uptown Minneapolis-- Hennepin and 27th, I believe. Also PF
Changs--I think there is one near Southtown. They have a gluten free
menu, just ask the waitress.
It is excellent chinese food. Additionally, Outback Steakhouse is
always a good bet, though maybe not all that adventurous. Depends on
what you are looking for.

**There is an IKEA right by the mall that has the gf torte often
mentioned. Check for a restaurant called Sidney's - they have gf pasta.
There is also a health
food store on the way to downtown called The Wedge. They have gf items
(including cakes and cookies) for take out.

**There's a small cafe on the lower level of the Mall of America that
sells peanut butter sandwiches that aren't gluten free, but they have
peanut butter GF cookies made w/o any flour.

**"Valley Natural" food store, south at 13750 Country Rd in Burnsville.
It's about 10 miles from the mall. Sidney's is a restaurant I haven't
been to but they will make any pasta dish with rice noodles. Basil's
restaurant for steak.

**IKEA is located just outside the Mall and has delicious "Almondy
Torte" that happens to be GF. I take a stack home with each visit.
They are located in the food section close to the exit. You can buy GF
foods at Wegman's and P.F. Chang's is a safe place to eat with a GF
menu and it tastes good too. I don't
know my way around the city enough to tell you how to get to Wegman's
or P.F.Chang's. I'm sure you will get other info from your questions.
