Hi All -

I recently posted a notice about an MSNBC report that states McDonald's french fries contain wheat and dairy. A friend just sent me another report that states that the wheat and dairy are used in a flavoring that is distilled so the fries are actually "safe" for food allergic people (according to McD's Nutritional expert). Evidently McD's feels they still need to list wheat and dairy to be in compliance with the new labelling laws.
Questions:
Do they test for the "absence" of wheat and dairy in the final product or is it assumed that distillation removes all or most of it?

Does the law require that you diclose an allergen that was removed from final product through distillation?

This is all very confusing to me. Are they present or not? And how do we get the clear answer?
