Sorry for the delay in summarizing.  My daughter's blood sugars were causing trouble last week (Type 1 diabetes) so I've been testing a lot and increasing insulin (and not sleeping too well).

To summarize:

Almost all responders thought that we should just go ahead and start the diet due to Alison's symptoms and the biopsy results.  A few people did think that my instincts were probably right and that she has an early stage of celiac disease.  I had one response with an offer of a doctor to review the reports (they may be about to release an applicable study) and I am waiting to hear on that one.

I hope I did this right.
