Thanks for all your responses and personal experiences with using your employers Flexible Spending Accounts. Opinions were varied!  Some people dislike the task of carefully saving receipts , others found it no trouble at all. Some send them in monthly, some less often. It seems there is a big difference in each plan, and so anyone contemplating using  such an account should check with their Benefits Manager  beforehand  to ascertain the rules of your particular plan. Money comes out of your paycheck before taxes, so that is a savings. The drawback is that if you don't use it, you lose it at the end of the year. some plans covered the total cost of GF foods, others paid only the difference between GF and  regular foods. So there are several things to consider before making a decision.
