Thanks to those who replied. I feel comfortable choosing this as a vacation
spot. Carol

We stayed there a year ago for Christmas. Two of us are gf of 4 in my
family. I took rice cakes and nutella for breakfast, then just ordered
coffee and fruit to have with it. Lunch was a salad, but I forgot to ask
if the french fries had a dedicated fryer. We didn't have a problem with
getting sick though. For dinner we usually had fish, vegetables and salad.
It is a wonderful hotel and alot of fun for children with all the pools.

We've stayed at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island twice now. The
whole place is very child friendly with the exception of the casino. We
got by eating g/f by asking for the chef or manager at each restaurant. If
you are even more organized then I am, you could probably arrange things in
advance through the concierge. We had no problem finding things that were
safe, however it is very expensive to eat there.

Nothing beats Disney for gluten friendly places to eat. Just FYI!!

we stayed there a few years ago, the chefs were great and cooked for us, we
did take the meal plan

Perfect Place... The Atlantis... I have celiac disease (gluten
intolerant). My husband and I have gone to the Atlantis two years in a row
now - I found it very easy to eat at any of their buffets. Lots of food to
choose from - of course, lots that I couldn't eat too - but I enjoyed all
that I could eat very much and never had a reaction - and I react with the
tiniest amount of gluten! We did the meal plan, and like I said, we
always did the buffet. You really can't get tired of it - there is so much
food, even for gluten intolerant people.
You will not be hungry! Enjoy it!

We stayed there in July of 2004. They had a great buffet and there was
plenty of food I could eat. Lots of shrimp, omlettes made as you waited.
Lots of fresh fruit, at every meal. I believe they had Edy's ice cream -
it's been awhile. They also had fresh and steamed veggies, and potatoes that
were fine. The beef and ham were okay - but please check again. (You never
know what's been added in two years.)

My daughter and I went to another resteraunt - can't remember the name, but
I got a steak and salad - just the way I needed it.

I certainly didn't go hungry.

I stayed at Atlantis last summer. It is very kid friendly... many families
there. The breakfast buffet was easy to do gluten free because there were
things like omelets and fruit. The lunches and dinners were pretty easy,
also. The chefs seemed to be accommodating and I did not get sick the
entire trip.

Hi,

Yes, we have stayed at the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island with a 6 year
old.
A good time was had by all and GF food was available - however, bring money.
Nothing is cheap on the island. I was told everything had to be shipped in.
For example, an ice cream bar on a stick cost $7.00. However , we had a
wonderful time and this is something we do not do every year, so it was very
memorable.
