Response from Dippin' Dots:

I need to know if dippin' dots and other associated products/toppings
you may carry in the store are gluten-free.

All of our products (except Cookies 'n Cream and Chocolate Chip Cookie
Dough) are gluten free. However, our flavoring is produced by a
company that also produces products that contain gluten. They do take all
necessary precautions to make sure there is no cross contamination.

Thank you!

Subject: gluten-free play dough sale

Ms. Flanagan,

Thank you for your time. As I mentioned, I noticed that periodically you have items on sale. I would like to request that the company consider periodically placing the gluten-free play dough on sale. I understand that you often place on sale what needs to be cleared out, or items that have dropped in cost. However, this play dough is the only commercial option for children with Celiac Disease or a wheat allergy. It is quite expensive relative to Play-Doh, which is not an option for us. As a gesture of goodwill, I would ask that the company consider intermittently offering it at a sale price.

Celiac Disease is now recognized to be quite common (~1 in 133 in the US). I would be happy to get you the information so that an ad for the sale could be forwarded to members of the Celiac Support Group. This is an international group linked by e-mail and likely would generate substantial sales of other items as well, particularly with a company going out of its way to recognize the needs of this group.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Michelle Azimov, MD
